Proceed with caution as you enter the warehouse of wedding inspiration…
Put down the Pinterest and keep your hands and mobile devices where I can see ’em!
Okay, so maybe it isn’t that dire a situation, but the wedding inspiration FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) can definitely cause your wedding planning to spin way outta control. It’s not just about the DIY Pinterest fails or the unattainable and obsessive quest for perfection, but also the distraction from truly important things and the gigantic time suck that inspiration sources can be if you’re not careful – time better spent on actual planning, or best enjoyed with loved ones during your engagement.
Of course inspiration images aren’t all bad. Daydreaming is good for the soul, and collecting concrete images to share with your family and vendors makes it easier to communicate your vision. You might find tips, tricks, and decorating ideas you’d never have come up with on your own, or even a sale on that gown you’ve been stalking.
Much like The Force, whether Pinterest does good or harm depends entirely on how you use it. I’m no Obi Wan, but I’ve put together some tips for wielding The Force of Pinterest for the good of all wedding-kind.
So tell me in the comments below: How do you use Pinterest for wedding inspiration (without the FOMO)?
