It’s well past mid-year, but 2015’s wedding trends are here to stay – likely through 2016. In case you haven’t been following, here are a few of the highlights:
2015 Wedding Trends Still Going Strong

Brides Wearing the Pants
Grooms can wear the pants, too, but brides are walking down the aisle in pants for 2015!

Asymmetrical Flowers & Non-Floral Mixes
We’ll be seeing lots more of the loose, asymmetrical, textured floral arrangements featured in magazines in 2015. Bouquets and arrangements often include fruits (and sometimes veggies), berries, leafy greens, and other surprise textural elements.

Flowers in Unusual Places
Flower crowns are in for the long haul (including on pets as “flower kids”!), but bouquets are also appearing as wrist corsages for brides and bridesmaids, and in necklaces, on shoes, and as gown embellishments (on trains they’re AMAZING!). Bridal limos and cars are getting gussied up, too!

Mini-Food and Food Stations
Not just mini-cakes (or mini-cupcakes), but mini-burgers and beer shooters! Mini-cotton-candy! Mini pies! Mini hot dogs! Mini grilled cheese sandwiches with mini soup shooters! Mini coffee and donuts! And any make-it-yourself food station/bars will continue in popularity.
Just for the record, anyone who tells you that cupcakes are out doesn’t know what they’re talking about. CUPCAKES-4-EVAH. Amirite?

Traditional Guest Books
Guest book books have been slowly fading away for the past several years, but I predict we’ll see the official end to most formal guest books soon. (Will we see their return as zombie guest books in 2016 or 2017? Who knows!?) Today’s guest book alternatives are more hard working, multi-tasking as attendance records, advice collections, photo albums, and decorative or useful items post-wedding. Anything that can bear hand-written messages is being reborn as a guest book.
Mini mason jars that double as delicious favors are still IN! via Etsy seller trio3
Mason jars have been everywhere from 2010-2014, but they’re all partied out now and headed back to the cupboard. (Apparently this change has not yet hit Etsy…or Ohio, where all things mason jar abound!)
We’ll miss you, mason jars! Don’t forget to write! (Exceptions: mason jars doubling as containers of mini-food!)
What trends are you seeing in 2015? What trends will you miss when they fall out of favor?
